Mayor Alexis Hermosillo declared a state of emergency March 17, 2020

Mayor Alexis Hermosillo declared a state of emergency March 17, 2020, in response to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Public access is closed to all City of El Mirage facilities through April 3, 2020, and City special events and community workshops are canceled through May 10, 2020. Essential City services such as police, fire, water, sewer and trash services will continue to operate.
Many staff members will telecommute and be available by phone and email, others by appointment. In addition, the City has suspended utility service disconnections until further notice.
Activities at the El Mirage Senior Center will resume when officials have evaluated the public health risk and determined it is safe to resume normal operations.
Police and Fire will continue to respond to calls. Public safety personnel have been trained and equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
The Fire Department will be closed for walk-in services; installation of car safety seats can be made by appointment only.
