About El Mirage Fire


Our Mission
 To protect the life, property, and 
environment of our community, neighbors, and guests by delivering professional life safety and hazard mitigation services.

The El Mirage Fire Department (EMFD) is an all hazard response Fire Department that serves approximately 35,000 city residents and the surrounding communities through a robust automatic aid agreement and responds to over 4,500 calls for service annually. 

We respond to and mitigate a variety of emergency situations including fires, auto accidents, medical emergencies, swift water rescues, and hazardous materials incidents. The department works diligently, through the adoption of current fire and building codes, to assist in the prevention of fires and other hazardous situations to ensure the highest level of safety for the citizens of El Mirage. 

The department is staffed with 31 sworn, full-time dedicated personnel who are ready to answer the community’s call for service 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. Two Paramedic Engine Companies (staffing dependent) with four firefighters including two certified Paramedics, One Battalion Chief and a Safety Officer (staffing dependent)  are on duty each day staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.

We recognize that each day we must continue to earn the community’s support and trust. We are committed to continuing to do so by providing high quality professional fire, life safety and emergency medical services to this community.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Emergency Services which are responsible for emergency response, operations, training, logistics, fire prevention, public education and fire investigations.
